Course: First Aid at Work Training

Location: It can be held at your Company Site or see our open courses at Milne Safety
Certification: Delegates will receive a certificate for a First Aid at Work – which is valid for three years from the date of achievement.




The Course Covers:
This First Aid at Work training course provides delegates with all the essential knowledge and practical skills required to become a designated First Aider, a significant responsibility within any organisation. Through an engaging and comprehensive three-day programme, participants are equipped to manage a broad spectrum of first aid emergencies, enabling them to respond to critical situations with confidence, speed, and effectiveness.
In line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, employers have a duty to ensure there is adequate equipment, appropriately trained personnel, and suitable facilities to ensure that all employees can receive immediate attention if an injury occurs. On completing this training delegates will receive a certificate in First Aid which meets the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations.
In addition, All first aid training delivered will be up to date regarding and protocol changes that may have arisen.
Areas Covered include:
- Legalities, responsibilities of being a designated First Aider
- What is involved in reporting of an incident under first aid at work
- How to deal with an unresponsive casualty
- The protocol involved in fractures and spinal injures
- The resuscitation procedure
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) awareness
- The assessment of the situation
- How to control bleeding
- What to do regarding shock and an anaphylaxis reaction
- How to response to a heart attack incident
- The protocol involving sprains and strains
- How to treat poisoning
- How to deal with an asthma attack
- Using bandages and bandaging
- Looking at diabetes and it’s effects
- What to do when choking
- How to response to a stroke
- Head, eye and chest injuries and how to deal with them
- How to treat burns
