We have been providing health and safety consultancy for businesses across Norfolk, East of England and throughout the UK for over 40 years. Established in 1978 as a chemical supplier, we expanded into health and safety services in the early 1980s.

Once you have enquired about our services, we will contact you to arrange a visit to your premises to discuss your requirements. Following this visit we will email you a proposal outlining the tailored services for your business and the generic services you receive as a Milne Member.
If you wish to go ahead your signed documentation will be processed and the relevant visits will be scheduled in to complete the programme of services.

Following an initial telephone conversation, we would then be happy to travel to where you are and have a no obligation discussion.
It is not always necessary, though if the task is too complex or high risk or if the HSE have been in contact, it can be beneficial. To ensure you can the right consultant for the job, check if they are members of Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR), of which our consultants are members.

If you happen to have a visit from a HSE inspector and they review your workplace in relation to your health and safety provisions. They may inspect equipment, review documents and speak with employees. Depending on their findings, they may offer advice, issues for improvement or prohibition notices, or take prosecution action.

Yes. The key threshold is five or more employees, rather than more than five. At this point, you must have a written health and safety policy and record the significant findings of your risk assessments. Businesses with fewer employees must still assess and control workplace risks. Other duties, such as providing suitable training and safe equipment, depend on your activities and risks, rather than simply the size of your workforce.
