The Course Covers:

Abrasive wheels can be dangerous if not handled properly. Training helps workers understand the risks and how to mitigate them, reducing the likelihood of accidents such as wheel bursts, which can cause serious injuries or fatalities.

  • Have an understanding of the rules and regulations appertaining to abrasive wheels.
  • General safety measures.
  • Eye protection.
  • Understand the hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels.
  • The function and method of assembly of all components.
  • Machine spindle and wheel speeds.
  • Fitting and adjusting guards, eye protection screens and work rests.
  • Truing and dressing of wheels.
  • Safety precautions prior to starting the machine.
  • Codes and marking of the abrasive wheel.
  • The course does not include a practical element, namely operating the grinder
