In addition to the certificate, the LOLER must in date for the truck the Instructor is training on.
LOLER which stands for (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) needs to be in date. The LOLER is similar to a MOT and the forklift requires a thorough examination every 12 months under the HSE Guidelines and LOLER 1998.
If the LOLER is out of date on for the truck we are training on the training will not be able to go ahead. This is covered on our booking form.
Yes, most of our training is onsite for companies in Norwich and beyond. We are based in Wymondham, but travel throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. If the location is further there maybe an additional cost.
If the Instructor is booked to complete forklift novice training at your site we recommend that you have a suitable area for turning and a number of loads to lift. This ensures the delegates are able to practice all the requirements outlined in the novice training
Yes, the HSE recommend companies sign up for accredited forklift training. The official forklift training standard came into existence in the UK in 1969. Forklift training has the following accrediting bodies such as AITT, ITSSAR, RTITB etc. and all follow pretty much the same guidance and require similar, if not the same, times for training.
We are accredited by AITT and so have to follow their timings for courses.
Accredited forklift training gives each delegate appropriate time on the truck and clear guidance from an experienced instructor, helping them develop the skills, competence and confidence to operate safely, with safety always the priority.
Unaccredited courses are deemed in-house, and are not recognised by the HSE, and so are not something we would offer.
We recommended that the delegates wear the appropriate PPE, high visibility vest and safety boots. As they will be using the truck to practice and test their skills.
Also reading glasses for the presentation.
