Who is this course suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone who currently holds an accredited certificate to operate one type of forklift truck but wants to operate a different category of forklift truck.
Important Information
Although not required by law, it is recommended by governing Health and Safety bodies that a refresher test is taken every 3-5 years for operators currently holding a nationally recognised certificate. This not only covers yourself as an employer but helps to keep safety at the forefront of your employees’ thoughts.
Course Objectives
To understand Forklift Truck safety and to be able to use a forklift truck both safely and efficiently
During the course, the following elements will be covered.
- To have an understanding of the current regulations
- Weight assessment
- Forklift stability
- Pre-operational checks including battery charging procedures
- Handling a variety of loads and the legal obligations
- Practical training and practical test
- Theory test paper
This course is a 2 day course and can be carried out at your premises or at Milne Safety for up to 3 delegates. We can only offer training at Milne Safety on a Counterbalance Category B1 (up to and including 5 tonnes)
